A lesson can include a private Stick and Puck session, involvement at a team practice, post-game video review or even a goalie-specific skating lesson. Have you ever heard of a goalie-specific skating lesson? Yeah, neither did I. But "Goalies don't skate!" they say. Well, the fact remains, skating is to a goalie as running is to a quarterback. Pretty important, wouldn't you say?

Goalies have often been neglected at team practices, becoming nothing more than targets for their team to fire shots at. Goalies are left wondering, "Am I even doing this correctly?" or "Why don't I get the attention the other players do?" Coaches just shrug their shoulders, claiming they know nothing about goaltending, and "As long as you keep those pucks out, everything will be fine with me". Well hey, at least their honest. But let's face it, there's a lot of pressure on the goalie. A good defense can bail out a quarterback's mistakes, and great fielding relieves that pitcher giving up hit after hit after hit. Who helps out the goalie? Well, by the time the puck gets to the goalie, all 5 players on his team are obviously out of the picture. That goalie has the backup tender sitting on the bench each and every game, staring him in the eye, ready to pounce at the slightest mistake.
